Cold repair
The Metalock® metal stitching method repairs cracks and joins broken castings without applying heat. The part keeps its original shape, alignment and structure.
What do we repair?
Engine blocks, cylinder heads, pump and compressor housings, machine beds, gearboxes, presses, flywheels and, in general, any cast iron part with cracks, fractures or missing material.
Why cold?
Conventional welding on cast iron creates thermal stress, distortion and new cracks around the repair. Working cold removes those risks, including the risk of explosion where fuel is present, and leaves the part pressure-tight and ready to work.
Advantages
- No distortion or heat stress.
- Can be done in the workshop or on site, without dismantling the equipment.
- Permanent, pressure-tight repair.
- Avoids replacing expensive, imported or discontinued parts.
- Keeps equipment downtime to a minimum.
