Metal stitching, no welding
The Metalock process is a unique, fast and permanent method for repairing cracks or joining broken cast metal parts without welding.
- Step 1
Using a drilling jig, blind holes are drilled perpendicular to the crack. Each row acts as a key.
- Step 2
The material left between the holes is removed with a pneumatic chisel.
- Step 3
The openings are sealed with METALOCK® keys.
- Step 4
Along the crack, between the keys, holes are drilled for the METALOCK® studs.
- Step 5
The METALOCK® studs are fitted, securing the seal along the whole fracture.
- Step 6
Finally, the surface is finished and sealed to guarantee stability, pressure resistance and tightness.

Metalock Uruguay is the exclusive representative of Metalock International Association in Uruguay. We are a trained team specialising in the cold repair of cast iron parts, engine machining and on-site repairs.
We work for transport, heavy and road-building machinery, the marine industry, power generation and industry in general. We recover parts that seemed lost and get equipment back into operation as quickly as possible.
